Looking for the best quad biking in Essaouira? If so then you have come to the right place. My partner and I live in Essaouira and he ALWAYS wants to go quad biking. Me? Not so much.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s fun to cruise down the beach and feel the wind whip through your hair. I just always have the feeling that I am gonna fall to my doom when my partner goes REALLY fast over uneven terrain.
Thankfully, most of the Essaouira quad biking tours listed here provide you with safety goggles, helmets, and a safety briefing. This way you don’t end up driving like my partner (i.e. a maniac).
In all seriousness, though, my partner loves quad biking and we have done SO many tours that I thought I’d just make up a list of my all-time faves. This way you can easily figure out which tour is right for you.
Personally, we like a quieter tour through places like Cap Sim. We just like going really fast and not having anyone around.
The ones through Diabat are quite nice, but the area is packed with people and that can detract from the experience.
Other than that, just enjoy the ride. I would also slow down when going over uneven terrain since you don’t want to cause an accident.
Finally, if they don’t give you goggles then be sure to bring some sunglasses. They are great for protecting your eyes since Essaouira is very windy. Therefore, sand/rocks can and do fly everywhere.

Ready to enjoy some of the best quad biking in Essaouira? If so then sign up for this amazing half-day tour.
Now, I will be the first one to admit that this tour is definitely a bit expensive. But, your group is limited to five people (MAX) and the guides are AWESOME.
Not only do they speak fluent English, but they take you to some really cool places that you wouldn’t be able to find on your own, like the old Sultan’s Palace in Diabat.
I was also a bit nervous about driving the quad bike, but they calmed me down and walked me through a nice safety briefing that made me feel a lot more at ease.
“Absolutely fantastic, the meeting point was easy to find, guides and reception all speak English & French. Went with my 14 year old son, when booking they asked our experience and tailored the 3 hour session to us. Just is 2 and 2 guides, after a safety briefing and intro we drove along the beach heading south to the dunes, once clear of the crowds the speed was derestricted allowing us to travel further and faster. The journey south was through, up, down and around the dunes, the only stop for water and a snack. We got as far south as the wind turbines you can see from Sidi Kauki, so a great journey seeing lots of the coast from the dunes. Return was a blast along a long and largely empty beach. You have to follow the guide, stating in their tracks, however at bo time did we feel this slowed us or took away from the experience. The quads were all 125 automatic so only forward / reverse, all very easy. We would happily go again.”
You’ll also do a quick safety ride and receive high-quality safety gear before you set off on a magical 3-hour journey. First, you’ll cross the Oued Ksob and pass the ruins of an ancient palace before driving along the wild dunes of Diabat.
You’ll make it as far as Sidi Kaouki before turning back. You’ll even get to stop for some chocolate and water along the way.
Overall, I loved this tour, even if it was a bit expensive for Morocco. The quality was epic and it was just an all-around fun day out in Essaouira.
The guides were also super patient since I asked them to take like 10,000 photos of me along the way. Oh, and the photos were actually good. So, yeah, I give this tour two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Local Tip: The same company also offers a 2-hour tour if you’re a bit short on time and want to enjoy a quicker ride before eating at one of the best restaurants in Essaouira.
Also, if you run short on time then you can always try quad biking in Marrakech instead.
2. Big Cap Sim Dunes and Forest 3 hours Tour

⭐️ Rating: 5.0/5.0 (218 Reviews) Price: $73.00+ per person Duration: 3 hours 📍Meeting Point: Palma Quad Operator: Palma Quad Details: Read more on Viator Now!
I know you might be looking at the price tag and thinking, “Oh hell to the no!”. But, trust me, this Cap Sim Quad Tour is worth it.
First of all, it’s private. So, you won’t have to share the dunes (or your time) with anyone else. Secondly, they take you to Cap Sim. The dunes here are STUNNING and a lot less crowded than Diabat.
The last time we went quad biking here we had the place all to ourselves and it was pretty dang magical. The bikes are also well-maintained, the staff is super friendly, and you can choose between a convenient morning or afternoon tour.
“The whole trip from start to finish was perfect. A well organised and professional excursion. You’re given gloves, a shirt, helmet and scarf for that professional look : ) We covered around 43km through forest, over dunes and along the beach to the lighthouse. Drinks & snacks were provided on the two breaks we had. Which allowed us to take in the beautiful scenery and have a breather. Our guide Nour Eddine was great, and didn’t have a problem with rescuing me a few times. The pictures I’ve uploaded are the ones taken by Nour throughout the ride, which they then email to you to download. I couldn’t recommend Palma Quads enough 👌🏽”

You even get chocolate, water, a FREE DVD filled with photos from your trip, and all the pro gear you could want (i.e. helmet, wind jacket, neck scarf, gloves and inner gloves).
Not gonna lie, this is the best quad biking Essaouira has to offer and you will not regret doing this tour. It’s super fun, especially if you’re camping in Essaouira.
3. Essaouira: 1-Hour Quad Bike Tour with Transfer

⭐️ Rating: 4.9/5.0 (30 Reviews) Price: $34.00 per person Duration: 1/2 hours 📍Meeting Point: Offer hotel pick up and drop off Details: Read more on Get Your Guide Now!
Not gonna lie, I didn’t like quad biking in Essaouira with this company as much as I did with some of the other places I’ve been to.
Don’t get me wrong, the tour was still good. It just wasn’t as good as some of the other quad-biking experiences on this list.
I mean, when you select the 1 or 2-hour tour you’ll still get to drive past epic sand dunes, through lush pine forests, stop for epic photos at Dar Sultan Palace, and check out the ruins of Bourj El Baroud.
“They are very quick to explain the process to you. On time for the appointment and super friendly. I highly recommend this activity practiced with families from 8 to 72 years old.”

Honestly, the ride is gorg and you will get to enjoy hotel pick-up if need be. However, I didn’t find the guides as friendly and thought that they could have done more in terms of safety.
You also don’t get any snacks, which is okay since it’s a shorter ride. But, it is a great option if you want a quick tour and are on a bit of a budget while in Essaouira with kids.
4. 2h Quad Bike on the Beach and in the Dunes

⭐️ Rating: 5.0/5.0 (40 Reviews) Price: $57.04 per person Duration: 2 hours 📍Meeting Point: Staff will pick you up from your Essaouira hotel Operator: Quad Attitude Details: Read more on Viator Now!
After getting picked up from the front desk of your hotel/riad in Essaouira, you’ll be whisked away to Diabat. This tiny town is just 3 kilometers away from Essaouira and is where your adventurous day trip from Essaouira will begin.
First, you’ll learn how to handle the quad bike before winding south through the quaint village of Diabat. Cruise along the beach, marvel at the incredible sand dunes and watch as animals drink from freshwater springs at low tide.
“A fabulous couple of hours! We were well looked after- Nabil took time to ensure we were confident with the driving before taking us on a wonderful drive around the dunes. Worth it for the views alone but the fact that we were on quad bikes made for an unforgettable experience. Perfect for teenagers.”

You’ll also spot some cozy little huts where local fishermen hang out after a long day of fishing. On the way back, zoom through windy forest trails before heading back to Essaouira.
Before booking, please know that kids under 12 must share a quad with an adult. Additionally, a driver’s license is NOT required to ride a quad in Essaouira.
Overall, this is a solid, child-friendly tour with great local guides. You’ll enjoy easy pick-up/drop-off, nice rental equipment, and will get to drive along a wide variety of terrain (forests, beaches, and sand dunes).
Local Tip: This company also offers a 3-hour tour if you’re looking to fill up your one-day Essaouira itinerary.
5. Essaouira: 3-hour Quad Ride (free transfer)

After getting picked up by Diana Quad in Essaouira, you’ll receive a helmet, jacket, and gloves that you can use during your amazing 3-hour quad ride.
Your pro, local instructor will then teach you everything you need to know about quad biking before having you do a demo ride to test your skills.
“Hussain took me out, initially in a group, but the final hour solo. He adapted to my capabilities but by the end we were doing up to 50kph through the dunes. A wonderful exhilarating experience that I will remember for a long time. I have done quads in the woods in Scotland, which is a real challenge of skill and bike control. This is quite different, with huge open spaces and the wind in your hair…”

When you’re ready, you’ll grab some water and go on an incredible adventure through wild forests, incredible palace/ tower ruins, untamed beaches, and the vast dunes of Cap Sim.
Overall, I like this tour because I have heard good things about the instructors. Plus, I like that they have you ride in a ton of different places and that they can adjust the tour to suit your level of expertise.
6. Essaouira: Private Atlantic Dune Buggy Adventure

⭐️ Rating: 5.0/5.0 (57 Reviews) Price: $180.00 per person Duration: 3 hours 📍Meeting Point: Parking lot of Supratours Details: Read more on Get Your Guide Now!
Okay, I know a dune buggy and a quad bike are NOT the same thing. But, my partner and I had SUCH a fun time that I am adding this experience to this list.
See, he really enjoys driving and has been begging me to do this private dune buggy tour for AGES. I was a bit skeptical since it was expensive and looked just like quad biking in Essaouira.
However, it was SUPER fun. First of all, you get picked up from Essaouira and then driver to Ghazoua for a 20-minute safety briefing about how to drive the buggies.
You’ll then spend two hours off-roading and smashing up the dunes at Plage Cap Sim before heading back to Ghazoua for a bit of tea.
“If you’re looking for an off-the-road activity by the dunes and varied terrain of Essaouira, you should definitely book this trip. This is for the adventurous and for the young-at-heart. Gregory and his team will welcome you warmly and show you the hidden beauty of the beaches, the sand dunes which changes shape by the minute, the windmills, the romantic sunset and the weathered landscape outside of the beaten tourist path. For half a day, you are literally undisturbed and you and the dune buggy are one. This isn’t like the attractions being peddled (in Marrakesh or in Dubai) wherein you end up disappointed. This is tailor made suited to the drivers’ abilities. We guarantee you that you will never feel the time passing. It will make you want to come back for more. Kudos to Gregory, Yahya and their team for showing us the possibilities and we are looking forward to seeing the guys soon! Truly excellent!”

Finally, finish up your adventure at the windmills of Essaouira and watch the sun sink beneath the horizon before heading back to the city.
It’s wicked fun and the dune biggies go MUCH faster than quad bikes. So, this activity is perfect for any adrenaline junkies who have a little extra cash to spend enjoying some of the best activities in Essaouira.
Gregory is also awesome and the entire team makes you feel so warm and welcome.
Conclusion
You now know all about the best quad biking in Essaouira after you try surfing in Essaouira.
If you can, try to go quad biking any time between September and April. This is when the winds are calmer and when you won’t have to deal with all this sand blowing in your face.
Additionally, always double-check with individual companies about rules relating to children. Some allow kids to ride their own quads while others do not.
You can also save a bit of money by booking with a company once you get to Essaouira from Marrakech. Many local companies will negotiate the price with you and you can sometimes get a better deal this way.
