1. Le Jardin

A meal at Sahbi Sahbi. You see a Berber omelet with eggs and tomatoe on a plate and there is a bowl of bread behind it and a drink on a white table cloth. This is one of the best things to do in Marrakech.

Want to dine amidst a charming, garden oasis in the middle of the Medina? If so then Le Jardin is the perfect lunch restaurant in Marrakech for you.

I stopped by my VERY first time in Marrakech since it was near Central House (my hostel/hotel in Marrakech) and one of my fave hammams in Marrakech. I loved it and have been coming back ever since.

I thought the food was good, the ambiance was amazing, and the prices were great. I got the egg tajine and enjoyed my dish.

TBH, I’m not sure why they refer to it as an egg tajine since it’s essentially a Berber Omelet. But, the food was epic and they gave me lots of bread to go with my food.

I also love the historic grandeur of this place since it’s tucked away inside an old riad from the 1960s.

Heck, you can even do a bit of impromptu shopping, after exploring the souks of Marrakech, since there is a pop-up boutique on-site that has some awesome stuff.

There’s even a new rooftop for you to use that features amazing views of the city. Just be sure you know what not to wear in Marrakech before you visit.

2. La Famille

Need a break from traditional Moroccan cuisine and not really into meaty goodness? If so then check out La Famille.

It’s located near Dar Si Said Museum (one of my fave museums in Marrakech) and has this epic, Mediterranean garden oasis feel that makes you never want to leave.

So, grab a table beneath a lemon tree and get ready to dig into a menu that changes daily and that is totally vegetarian-friendly, perfect for vegetarians in Marrakech.

You’ll start with two dips made from seasonal vegetables that are perfectly paired with homemade crackers.

Next, enjoy a fresh salad (made with barley semolina, fruits, veggies, and herbs), a pasta dish, or a focaccia pizza (made with herbs and grilled veggies) as your entree.

Whatever you do, save room for dessert since this lunch restaurant in Marrakech has a wide array of homemade options, including chocolate peanut butter cake, tiramisu, and soft cakes with argan.

Last time I was here I stopped by for dinner and really loved the beetroot hummus and the quinoa salad. Both are great vegan options in Marrakech.

Local Tip: Don’t leave without heading to their corner store and checking out some of the jewelry on offer. This spot is great and home to some of the best shopping in Marrakech. Also, be sure to make a reservation online in advance.

3. Nomad

A plate of vegetarian couscous on a black table with a menu and a coke zero in the background at Nomad, one of the best rooftop restaurants in Marrakech.

I’m not gonna lie to you, I have mixed feelings about lunch in Marrakech at Nomad.

First, let me start with the good stuff. Service was fast and efficient. The decor was lovely and had a very modern, chic vibe. The menu was small but filled with modern takes on classic Moroccan dishes like couscous.

I also thought my food came out FAST. I ordered the vegetarian couscous and even though they were PACKED, my food came out of the kitchen within fifteen minutes.

Okay, now the downside. You MUST make a reservation and order a FULL meal if you want to sit on the roof. Yeah, this place is heaving with people and you will not sit on the roof if you just show up.

This place is also SUPER crowded and I thought the menu was a bit small. I mean, how is there not a vegetarian tajine on the menu?

Additionally, I thought the food was alright but not amazing. I mean, for 140 Dirhams ($14.00) I kind of expected the food to blow my mind.

Anyway, the views from the roof are nice and if you are dying to visit then definitely make a reservation and make your life 10,000 times easier.

But, if you are looking for an authentic Moroccan lunch in Marrakech then head here and try one of the best Marrakech rooftops of them all.

4. Le Terrasse des Epices

Not to be confused with Cafe des Epices, Le Terrasse des Epices is known for its vibrant atmosphere and a giant menu filled with lots of amazing food to eat in Marrakech.

I love love the rooftop. It has these amazing tarps that offer a bit of shade while letting in ample natural light. You’ll also find these cool, round tables and whicker balls that hang from the ceiling and add to the ambiance.

Add in stellar rooftop views and you have a top spot for the best lunch in Marrakech. This place is popular among the Instagram crowd, so be sure to make a reservation.

It’s worth it though since you can dig into incredible lamb tajine that is paired with awesome, homemade bread.

Also, if you want to sit on the rooftop then you’ll need to order a full meal. Yeah, this is pretty common and many of the best brunch spots in Marrakech do this too.

Also, be prepared to spend some $$$ since entrees start at 195 Dirhams ($19.95) which is super expensive for Marrakech.

The hours here are also a bit wonky and they have their first service from 12:00 to 12:30 pm and their second service from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm, with ample tables in the sun and shade.

5. Cafe Clock

A view of an orange portrait above the kind set on a white wall with blue on the bottom, There are also two chairs with orange pads on them around a table.

Cafe Clock is one of my all-time favorite lunch places in Marrakech and is one of the best cafes in Marrakech too. I like coming here for breakfast in Marrakech since it’s served until 12:00 pm and includes an entree, coffee/tea, and OJ for just 55 Dirhams ($5.50).

Just choose between the Berber Omelet, a Khil3 Omelet, scrambled eggs, pancakes, granola with yogurt, and the avocado toast.

Personally, I love the Berber Omelet while my partner always opts for the pancakes since you get a huge stack topped with caramelized bananas. The food is delish and the price is extremely reasonable for what you get.

However, if you’re not a fan of breakfast for lunch then you can’t go wrong with the falafel bowl or the camel burger since both are awesome. Besides, where else will you be able to try camel?

The portions are also big and they have this amazing rooftop area with fun, modern decor. So, it’s a great place to chill near the Kasbah.

The views aren’t amazing but it’s still a great spot to hang out. Plus, if you’re looking for cool things to do in Marrakech then you can sign up for a calligraphy workshop, a cooking class, and even a storytelling class.

TBH, I love bringing children here since they have some cool things for kids to do in Marrakech.

They even have live musical performances in the evening, making this one of the best places to go in Marrakech at night.

Local Tip: If you’re not sure what to order as a drink, try the spiced cappuccino. It’s served with lots of cocoa powder and cinnamon on top and is awesome.

6. Cafe des Espices

Aerial view of a Berber Omelte with red suace on a wooden table with a fork and knife wrapped in a napkin on the side.

In terms of the quality of the food and the price you pay, Cafes des Epices is one of the best places for lunch in Marrakech.

The last time I was here I ordered the Berber Omelet and absolutely loved it. However, friends of mine have had the hummus and chicken tajine and raved about it.

Yes, this place will be packed and there will probably be a line down the road. But, you get amazing food and my entree cost just 40 Dirhams ($4.00).

They also have a killer rooftop with sweeping views of Place des Epices. But, you will have to wait for a seat on the roof since this cafe is flooded with people for lunch.

To avoid the crowds, stop by right when they open, head to the roof, and grab some breakfast. Sure, this place is nothing fancy.

But, the food is good, which is why I highly recommend this and consider it one of the best places to eat in Marrakech.

7. Kabana Marrakech

A view of a giant black pan with Shakshuka made with aggs and feta and avocado. There is also bread and a coke on the table.

Located just outisde of the Medina, I love this Marrakech lunch spot for a couple of reasons. First of all, they have a spacious, posh, and super comfy rooftop with views of Koutoubia Mosque.

TBH, the views are a bit obstructed by surrounding vegetation, which is a bit of a bummer. I also hate that you have to use a QR code to access the menu.

But, the food is awesome. Yes, it is a little expensive at 140 Dirhams ($14.00) per entree. However, they serve brunch all day long from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

So, if you love breakfast for lunch then this place is a great choice. I got the Shakshuka with avocado, spinach, harissa, and feta and adored my food.

I gobbled up the entire entree and felt pleasantly full since the dish was made with three eggs and served with a small basket of bread.

I kind of wished they gave me more bread, but that’s okay. I think I am in the minority in that respect.

In contrast, my partner went sweet and ordered the Tiramisu French toast. Needless to say, after eating here he keeps asking me when we are coming back.

This is also a great place to simply chill with a drink since they have a beautifully decorated, spacious rooftop bar in Marrakech where you’ll want to relax the day away.

Yeah, it’s one of the best restaurants with alcohol in Marrakech and is a great place to hang out for New Year’s in Marrakech.

8. Cafe Atay

View of the white whicker chairs and thatched roof and hanging lanterns that make up the rooftop of Cafe Atay.

This hidden gem in Marrakech is easily one of the best rooftop restaurants in Marrakech. It sits just a hop, skip, and jump away from Ben Youssef Madrasa and is an epic addition to any 2 day Marrakech itinerary.

After all, you’ll get to enjoy fabulous views of the city from atop a chill, non-touristy rooftop that serves delish things like couscous, chicken skewers, and chicken tajine.

Just be sure to climb up between four and five flights of stairs to enjoy the best views possible, especially at sunset.

Additionally, the prices at one of the best lunch restaurants in Marrakech are pretty reasonable since entrees won’t cost you more than 85 Dirhams ($8.50) each.

The last time I was here I thought the service was great. I ordered an amazing iced tea and some chicken skewers. It was the perfect thing to order on a hot day since they have this mist that they spray to keep you cool during the summer.

Sure, it’s not as awesome as a/c, but I definitely found it refreshing after a long day. Afterward, head to one of the best cooking classes in Marrakech and enjoy a bit of cooking.

A view of me and y boyfriend sitting together in Chefchaouen with the Spanish Mosque behind us. We did this during a fun Fes to Chefchaouen day trip.

9. Naranj

Aerial view of a white table full of white plates with cheese cigars, hummus, tabouli, falafel, and more.

Located near the Mellah, Naranj is a chic, upscale restaurant where you can get amazing, high-quality Lebanese food. The last time I was here I kind of stopped by on a whim since I was starving.

I was not disappointed since the patio area was lovely and I got to dig into a Mezze plate full of hummus, moutabbal, tabboule,, fattouchem, and Mhammara.

Honestly, everything was really good and they made the mezze plate for one since I was solo in Marrakech and dining alone.

They also accept credit cards which made payment a breeze. Additionally, while there were people here this place wasn’t filled with people.

So, I feel like it’s one of those good restaurants in Marrakech that not everyone knows about…yet.

All in all, it’s a great option if you are sick of Moroccan food, want something different, and don’t mind spending a bit extra the best lunch in Marrakech.
