On a totally plant-based diet and looking for some of the best vegan restaurants Marrakech has to offer? If so then you are in luck because this city has some epic vegan food.
In fact, one of the very first things I noticed about Morocco when I moved here in January of 2023 was how many traditional Moroccan foods are actually vegan-friendly.
Things like tajine, couscous, and harira are all 100% plant-based. So, you shouldn’t have. a hard time finding vegan-friendly restaurants in Marrakech.
However, there are a lot of less-than-stellar places to eat in Marrakech. A lot of spots are glorified tourist traps and you will end up spending a ton of $$$ on food that doesn’t taste good.
So, skip the lame dining experiences and use this local guide instead. I have lived in Marrakech and visit every chance I get since I am only about a 3-hour bus ride away.
I also love vegan food and try to eat plant-based foods whenever possible. Therefore, I have made it my mission to seek out the best vegan restaurants in Marrakech and share them with you.
I’ll give you my HONEST opinion and tell you where to go in Marrakech for vegan food and what places to avoid.

Table of Contents
1. Some Concept Coffee Shop

Located right near the train station in Gueliz, this coffee shop/concept store is a great place to go if you want some high-end merch and to relax in a shaded garden.
Essentially, they have a neat store/gift shop on the first floor and a design lab on the second floor. Next, head out back to find a wealth of tables on a charming garden patio that sits outside an open kitchen.
Just be sure to get here early since food isn’t frozen and once they run out, they run out. We got here around 2:00 pm and they ran out of essentially everything we wanted to order.
However, they do serve brunch in Marrakech until 4:00 pm, even if they run out of the brunch items way before that.
They also have a ton of vegan-friendly items like avocado toast, a three-dip plate with hummus, gazpacho, a Buddha Bowl, a vegan wrap, a vegetable tajine, and more.
We stopped by in the morning for brunch and really enjoyed our tea, caffe latte, and msemen. Yes, things are a bit expensive. But, they use the freshest ingredients and everything tastes great.
I just wish the woman waiting on us was a bit kinder because she was a bit abrupt and kept snapping at us when we tried to order and they had run out of a certain dish.
But, there are in ton of restaurants in this neighborhood in Marrakech. So, you can always go somewhere else. Also don’t forget to tip in Marrakech while you’re here.
2. Kui Zin

Kui Zin stands out as one of Marrakech’s premier rooftop dining spots. After all, this amazing vegan-friendly restaurant exquisitely blends cool decor with traditional Moroccan style.
Sure, this restaurant isn’t 100% vegan. However, it impresses with stunning rooftop views and live, traditional Moroccan music that is performed nightly.
So, get ready for an unforgettable vegan experience that includes delicious harira soup (kind of like a chickpea soup) and vegetable briouats. The briouats are kind of like a samosa, but are made with lots of fresh veggies.
Alternatively, you could stop by in the evening and enjoy a fun buffet that includes live Moroccan music. Just don’t leave without getting the spiced Moroccan espresso since I basically inhaled it the last time I visited.
It’s also an easy place to visit since it’s located near one of the best cheap riads in Marrakech.
3. Cafe des Epices

Cafe des Epices is one of the coolest rooftop restaurants in Marrakech. However, the first time I visited I made the mistake of going for lunch (around 2:00 pm) and instantly regretted my decision.
The place was PACKED with tourists and you had to wait over an hour for a table on the roof. So, I decided to return for breakfast in Marrakech and loved sitting on the roof since the restaurant was almost empty.
The views of Place des Epices were also lovely, which makes this an excellent place to relax during a jam-packed, one-day Marrakech itinerary.
But, aside from the views, the food is also delicious. I ordered the Berber Omelet the last time I was here and it came with plenty of bread and cost just 40 Dirhams ($4.00).
However, if you are looking for delicious vegan fare then try the vegetable tajine or a variety of different sandwiches and salads. They also accept credit cards and the service here is very fast and efficient.
This place isn’t fancy, but it is a good place to eat if you want a cheap, fast, and delicious vegan meal in Marrakech. It’s also well-located near some of the best riads in Marrakech with a pool.
4. Simple Restaurant Marrakech
Hidden away in the Medina, Simple Restaurant Marrakech is a stellar vegan restaurant in Marrakech for anyone who wants to try traditional Moroccan food, but who doesn’t eat meat.
I LOVE that they have a dedicated vegetarian section on their menu that outlines all of the veggie options available. Just be let your server know you’re vegan, and they’ll tell you what you can and cannot eat.
The last time we stopped by we had the vegetarian tajine with couscous and the Falafel poke bowl since my partner is obsessed with falafel. He said his falafel was delicious and I liked my tajine.
TBH, I preferred the cheesecake for dessert and the eggplant salad. Both were amazing. Plus, the prices are very reasonable since you won’t pay more than 85 Dirhams ($8.50) for an entree.
It’s just a cozy little restaurant in the Medina that serves delicious Moroccan cuisine with plenty of options for anyone on a plant-based diet.
5. Nomad

If I am being brutally honest, I think that Nomad is a bit overrated. First of all, this place is PACKED with tourists.
Like, you won’t find a local anywhere (besides the staff) since the prices are high and tourists descend upon this place like a swarm of locusts.
I know when I stopped by around 1:30 pm, I was lucky I got a table. That being said. I loved the sleek, modern decor and thought the staff were super nice.
They were eager to help me and explained that I needed a reservation to sit on the roof and that I also needed to order a full meal.
So, clearly I sat in the main dining room. I ordered the vegetarian couscous, but was struck by how small the menu was. I think they had maybe two vegetarian options. However, you can tweak entrees and make them vegan-friendly if need be.
Anyway, my couscous cost around 140 Dirhams ($14.00) and was just okay. I definitely ate the whole thing but wasn’t super impressed, even though my food came out super quickly.
You could also try the roasted chermoula and harissa cauliflower, the cauliflower salad, and the Moroccan gazpacho if you’re looking for other vegan options. However, the flavors here tend to be lacking here. Definitely not my fave spot.
Local Tip: This is also a great gluten-free restaurant in Marrakech since there are some gluten-free dishes that are clearly labeled on the menu.
6. World Storytelling Cafe

I couldn’t in good conscience make a list of the best vegan restaurants in Marrakech without putting World Storytelling Cafe on the list.
It’s basically the only, totally vegan restaurant in the city and has an array of items that vegans will absolutely adore.
Yes, the menu is small. However, they have a great selection of tapas that are well-priced at 20 Dirhams ($2.00). We enjoyed the Zalouk, Loubia, Lentil Stew, Bissara, hummus, falafel, and masala during our last visit.
However, they do have additional soups and main dishes available if none of those tapas sounds appealing to you. Personally, I thought they were all really tasty and jam-packed with flavor.
My only complaint is that the service can be extremely slow. But, the Wifi is pretty fast and the last time I stopped by I was able to get some work done.
If you can, ask them about their special storytelling events too and see if you can attend one since they are fun and a great way to immerse yourself in local culture. These events are also one of the best free things to do in Marrakech.
7. Le Jardin Restaurant

This is one of my fave places to eat in the Medina. The food, service, and incredible decor never fail to impress since the dining room sits inside a vintage riad from the 1960s.
The space is filled with a wealth of verdant plants that make you feel like you are dining in a secret garden, not a cool romantic restaurant inside the Medina.
Heck, there’s even a fun pop-up shop where you can look for cool things to buy in Marrakech, as well as a new rooftop dining area. So, if you’re lucky, you can get a table on the roof and enjoy sweeping views of the Medina.
I usually opt to sit in the main dining room and order the egg tajine since it is delicious and is the equivalent of a Berber Omelet.
However, this cool vegan restaurant in Marrakech has a wealth of plant-based entrees on their menu, like hummus, vegetarian briouates, avocado toast, a garden burger, vegetarian couscous, etc.
Just pay close attention to the menu since vegan and vegetarian items aren’t clearly labeled.
8. Broc the Kasbah

The first thing you’ll love about Broc the Kasbah is that it is a 100% vegetarian restaurant. They also have a cool clothing shop next door that is awesome if you like vibrant and funky attire.
But, you’re really here for the food, which includes a ton of vegan options like their amazing French toast and a falafel bowl. My partner loves the falafel here and can’t get enough of the flavorful sauces that accompany it.
Typically, we like to relax on the roof with some mint tea since it is really nice. The staff are attentive and always want us to have a good time. The prices are also very reasonable (like 40 Dirhams for an entree) since this spot is a smidge off the beaten path.
So, you won’t see gobs of tourists here like you would at some other restaurants in the Medina.
I also love that they bring out the menu on a vinyl record. It’s a small detail but is something that really sets this place apart as one of the best vegan restaurants Marrakech has to offer.
It also makes dining here one of the more non-touristy things to do in Marrakech. The last time I was here I got the falafel burger which was nice. It came with a side of potatoes.
I also like that they bring you a small bowl of crunchy corn as a starter since it tastes really good.
9. La Famille

Tired of the eating the same old Moroccan dishes? If so then venture over to this vegetarian cafe in Marrakech.
They serve an array of Mediterranean delicacies that are absolutely amazing. You can also easily find this charming eatery near Dar Si Said Museum in the Medina.
So, step inside and uncover an enchanting garden oasis that offers guests a much-needed break from Marrakech’s bustling souks.
Grab a seat beneath the shade of a lemon tree and enjoy a meal at this epic lunch spot in Marrakech.
See, La Famille takes a farm-to-table approach to cooking. So, they use only the freshest, seasonally available ingredients.
During my last visit, I indulged in two homemade dips that were perfectly paired with crispy crackers as a starter. I then had their awesome focaccia pizza with fresh herbs and roasted vegetables as my entree.
The freshness and sumptuous taste of each dish were simply awesome. Sadly, I missed out on dessert, which was a bummer since they serve homemade tiramisu, decadent chocolate peanut butter cake, and cakes infused with argan oil.
Pro Tip: Don’t miss the beetroot hummus since it is awesome. You should also make a reservation and shop for jewelry at their associated store after you eat.
10. Al Nashama

This vegan-friendly restaurant in Marrakech is actually Jordanian. So, you’ll see the waiters walking around in tradtional Jordanian scarves.
The decor is also lovely and includes street art murals on the walls as well as beautiful greenery. Additionally, the staff are super friendly and happy to help with anything you need.
The last time I was here my partner ordered the Falafel Sandwich for 10 Dirhams ($1.00) and I go the hummus and falafel for 55 Dirhams ($5.50). So, yeah,t he prices are super reasonable.
Overall, I thought the food was great. It’s not the best falafel I’ve ever had. But, the food was delicious enough for us to come back.
Sure, they have other things on the menu, like pizza. However, I haven’t tried them since I am too obsessed with the falafel.
11. Henna Art Cafe

Located within the Medina, right near the Kasbah, Henna Art Cafe is one of the coolest cafes in Marrakech. See, what stands out about this magical restaurant is that it is a unique combination of affordability and delicious food.
The henna service is also amazing. The designs that I got were so beautiful and the woman were super fast too.
Additionally, the interior is captivating. There is art for sale everywhere and they have a nice little rooftop for you to relax on. They even do cool things like bring you utensils in traditional Moroccan shoes.
The last time we hung out here we ordered the hummus and falafel since that is like all my partner eats (LOL). Both were delicious, although the hummus could have used a bit more flavor.
We also shared the avocado toast and that was lovely too. I was even pleased when we received the bill since entrees only cost between 60 and 70 Dirhams each.
Overall, this is a great place for vegans to eat in Marrakech. The service is awesome, the prices are reasonable, and the food is lovely. The menu is even clearly marked so you know exactly what dishes are vegan-friendly.
Local Tip: Full disclosure, the last time we were here the food wasn’t very good. My partner ordered the falafel plate and I got the Berber Omelet and it was less than stellar. Hopefully the chef just had an off day.
12. Bloom House

Bloom House is located a bit off the beaten path in Gueliz. However, if you’re vegan it’s worth a trip here since they have a ton of vegan options that include banana bread. falafel wraps, a yogi bowl, a vegan chocolate tart, and more.
They do have some vegetarian menu items as well, like the Shashuka (so good), so just keep an eye on the menu since not everything is vegan.
However, the menu is well-marked and we LOVED the vegan banana bread with vegan mascarpone cheese. I mean, I am not even vegan and thought it was delicious. It is also served warm and smells delish.
The prices are also super reasonable (like 85 Dirhams an entree) and I LOVE the ambiance here. You can sit at a sleek, modern table and sit amidst a stunning garden oasis.
Plus, they serve a TON of homemade lattes that are made with non-dairy milk – something that is hard to find in Marrakech.
Overall, this is one of my all-time favorite vegan restaurants in Marrakech and you should definitely come here to enjoy their amazing food.
You can also do some yoga in Marrakech afterward since they are a yoga studio in Marrakech. Yeah, I wish the yoga studios in Essaouira served amazing food like this.
I also wish there were cool vegetarian restaurants in Essaouira like this.
